With over 2500 factory presets across a range of categories ( 29 different ones), such as synths, pads, strings, keyboards, vocals, drums and more, you’re almost certain to find something you like. The built in presets is where Xpand!2 really steals the show, especially for the price point at which it’s being offered. More on the presets and quality is discussed later on in the review. The presets are sorted in categories for easy navigation. Lastly, at the bottom part, you’ll find a menu where you can pick factory presets as well as save your own. This is a great feature to quickly add additional effects and tones to the presets. Some of the FXs available are: Hall, Rich Chorus, Lo-Fi Stereo Delay, Phaser, Detune and many more. By using the various sound slots in conjunction is when Xpand!2 is really able to shine.Īs you continue down the interface, you’ll come to the FX section, where you can add a magnitude of different FXs to the two effect slots. These are of great use if you wish to go in and tweak the sounds and alter individual parts to make them perfect for your track. In addition, each sound slot, or “parts” comes with its own MIDI channel, Note Range, Mix, Arpeggiation, Modulation and two effects knobs. You can add presets, such as drums, strings, synths and many more. Here is where you are able to adjust the 4 sound slots. Changes to these knobs can be saved as presets and be accessed at anytime.īelow the “smart knobs” row, you’ll find the main section of Xpand!2. On the right side, you’ll find a knob to adjust the level and volume. On the top section of the plugin, you’ll find a row of “ smart knobs” that allows you to adjust individual parts of the patches and change things such as decay release, cut-off and tune. Thank you for any assistance and I apologize if this is the wrong forum location for such a post.Due to its clean and modern GUI, with a well laid-out array of knobs and sliders, getting started with Xpand!2 is a smooth experience. (As seen here, it is still here and being detected but is not loading.) At first I considered reinstalling the plugin, however the installer for Xpand!2 seems to not be functioning either and I am nervous about messing with that rather than finding what caused Mixcraft to no longer recognize it properly.
I have not updated or touched any files that I believe could have caused this, as I'd only just woken up and the plugin worked just fine before I had slept. I had tried to restart Mixcraft in order to fix this, and it is now gone from the list entirely. Although it showed up, the "Show Details" section was without preset category and it's Show button. I had noticed when switching to that instrument in the list.
Without explanation it has suddenly stopped working. Hello, I am unsure if this is the correct place to make such a post but I am in slightly a rush for assistance.įor about a year now I have used the plugin Xpand!2 with Mixcraft, it is the primary instrument plugin that I use.
